Leadership Transition

PCL Leadership Transition, August 2006

Bob Pace

A smooth transition was made in August of 2006 from the founding Director of People for Care and Learning, Bob Pace, to his personal choice of successor, Dr. Fred Garmon. The vision that Bob birthed is being carried out by Dr. Garmon and the ever-growing PCL Team.

Dr Garmon at the Children's Home in Siem Reap, Cambodia

In June of 2004 Bob envisioned a large boat/barge Medical Clinic on the Tonle Sap Lake in Siem Reap Cambodia. The building of that boat began in the fall of 2006 and is on track to be on the Lake by the summer of 2007. Not only will it be built by the summer of 2007, thanks to PCL’s partnership with Men and Women of Action - South Carolina Region (www.cogmwoa.org) the boat will already be completely paid for.

Another of Bob’s dreams involved the expansion of the Siem Reap Orphanage site which continues to grow daily. In addition a “business/vocational center” in the downtown area of Siem Reap, Cambodia was purchased and is being developed. The four-story Downtown Center will house an Internet Café plus class rooms for Khmer business training.

Bob Pace began with the first dream of reaching out to an area of the world where many had not yet ventured! The new Director and President, Dr Fred Garmon, is now carrying out the dream and with the help of those who are partnering with PCL the sky is the limit!
